Intoxicated Honesty by ~Gods-Jester:iconGods-Jester:

Who would have thought that honesty is so false.
Does it seem strange that it requires a potion?
True, the drink brings out the beast we hide.
Intoxicated Honesty…what a weird notion.

Should I believe the man who in drunken fit,
Bares his soul’s emotions.
Or judge him by what he hides,
When his world is not in motion.

I was at a rave last night and a lot of guys got totally wasted and started spouting out there emotions. Strangely, for once they were being completely honest about their opinions. Got me wondering, is it sad that we can only be honest when we have lost our minds? What does that say about the nature of honesty? Is honest a desirable quality...an accurate reflection of character?

That's a really interesting motion. I've been thinking about how to judge people and what not lately. Seems like i'm not the only one.

Keep writing and I'll listen!

When I give my heart.
It will be completely.
Or I'll never give
my heart.
And the moment
that I feel that you,
feel that way too.
That's when I'll fall in love,
with you.

People are more likey to spew there emotions when wasted because they lose there inhibitions when wasted. They wont care what you think. If sober they would be afraid of judgment;therefor hesitating to cough up the info. Good job on the poem. Cool idea. Keep it up

Thanx, Glad you could relate to it. I find poetry is most effective when it mirrors something you find important. Thanx!

Yeah, but should honesty, something we so admire!, be something that you grudginly release? I guess what I found wierd was that truth is something we cling to until we are forced to reveal it, yet the very act of revealing it is honourable? I don't know... anyway. Thanx man!

Yeah, and I got some great dirt out of this guy who got completely plastered. So it worked out.

Yeah, was listening to 'Miss You' by Blink 182, and bam, the poetry came together before my eyes. Its just a matter of feeling the right way, at the right time, and if you're lucky enough to have a pen in your hand at the time, you strike gold!
