Sound of the Underground by ~Gods-Jester:iconGods-Jester:

CRUNCH… CRUnch… Crunch… cruch…
The sound heard underground
Leaden foots treading gravel
The brain begins to pound

The clicks and clanks of thoughts wirring
Hoping to be found
Yet none stoop to listen quietly,
For the sound of the underground.

Stuck in endless dust and rock,
My body a shapeless mound
Over which passers-by stumble,
Treading my sacred ground.

Oh, but for a moment’s silence!
The sounds continue to hound
The peace of mind that was promised
When I embraced the ground.

Damn the ceaseless noise of life!
My words are slowly drowned,
For no one cares to lend an ear
To the sound of the underground.

Dedicated to those who suffer an eternity unnoticed.
Also goes out to the assholes who released the godforsake pop song by the same name.

Thanx, I was driving at night when this came on the radio, and just began to question what the sound of the underground really was? The poem wrote itself after that.

This really is great! What pop group are you talking about? I'm afraid I don't think I know the song...

I don't know there name, but there was this very popular but extremely annoying club anthem called sound of the underground. It had to do with urban music and club anthems being the 'sound of the underground' and for some reason I began wondering what is the literal sound of the underground? Yes.. I do tend to think strangely (out of the box as I like to call it). Thanx for the praise! Glad you like it.
